MISSION

The MNSTR Skate Initiative is dedicated to sharing a holistic approach to managing a skateboarder's mental health through carefully curated content based on lived experiences + personal research. Creating a supportive space to connect, seek practical information, and normalize discussions of our mental health within the skateboarding community. MNSTR Skate aims to help individuals with different mental health conditions to connect better with themselves through a variety of accessible practices and mindsets to improve their mental state as well as their physical well-being.

The MNSTR Skate Initiative is not for profit, it's a project created to share the information I've acquired so far through lived experiences. I'm a mental health advocate with a desire to share an integrated approach to mental health management that requires mainly the will of the individual. Sharing details on how to strengthen your mind so that you can manage your mental health better through mindfulness, learning, and self-mastery which can be seen on the MNSTR Method page. The content of this project is something that I've put together along the way, they are not new methods but a combination of practices that I've done.  I believe that we have the power within ourselves to improve our mental health state and we can start that process today.

In my mental health journey so far... I've learned about self-reliance, self-compassion, and how to level up my self-awareness among other life skillsThe process of discovering ways to improve my mental health on my own required a certain amount of humility while remaining open-minded. The aforementioned is what I had to apply in my daily practice to manage my mental health and to heal from the effects of my C-PTSD, as I look to myself first for help before getting in touch with my support system and/or professional help. To do what's in my control especially when external help is not available/accessible at any time. On this note, The MNSTR Skate Initiative is a peer support platform providing information + connection on the provided channels (Website + IG), it is not a therapy nor a crisis service. I encourage the additional help that you may need from the appropriate sources while working on yourself.  However, I consider therapy a privilege, as it can be costly and one may find it challenging to find a therapist that meets their needs. This is why I've created this project to hopefully help others help themselves first.
